Working With Children Check

The Working with Children Check Guidelines have been revised to make the process clearer and incorporated legislative changes. The new, improved Guidelines must be used from 23rd April 2004.

As a result of these changes and changes to The Breaking The Silence - Policy and Processes for the Presbyterian Church of NSW, all Scripture (SRE) teachers and helpers entering schools to provide Presbyterian Special Religious Education must be authorised by their local minister or session clerk.

This authorisation takes the form of a signed (green) Authorisation Card available from the Christian Eduaction Office. The SRE teacher or helper must carry this card whenever they are teaching in the school.

As part of the SRE teacher authorisation procedure the SRE teacher or helper must complete the following forms:

Two copies of the forms are to be signed - one remaining within the congregational records, the other being sent to the Christian Education Office.
