ABOUT SRE
All SRE (Special Religious Education) teachers and SRE helpers entering schools to provide Presbyterian Religious Education must be authorised by their local minister or session clerk. This authorisation takes the form of a signed (green) Authorisation Card available from the Christian Education Office.
To apply for this card, the SRE teacher or helper must complete the following forms:
Two copies of the forms are to be signed - one remaining within the congregational records, the other being sent to the Christian Education Office.
If you need more information about how to get authorisation for your SRE Teacher, click on this link Steps for Special Religious Teacher (SRE) Authorisation.
Though it is not compulsory for SRE teachers to attain a Basic Accreditation Certificate, the Christian Education Office highly recommends that our SRE teachers undertake training so that they can adequately and competently teach SRE.
